Church Communications Strategist

Summary of Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated and mission-driven Church Communications Strategist to join our Marketing Services Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in church communications, a passion for helping ministries reach people more effectively, and the skills to develop strategies that bring clarity and alignment to messaging across multiple platforms. This person will partner directly with our church clients on Clever’s behalf, serving as a trusted advisor and strategist.

 General Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with church clients to assess communications challenges and develop strategies that align with their vision and goals.
  • Create communication plans for church-wide initiatives, events, sermon series, and outreach campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Clever’s design, video, web, and marketing teams to execute campaigns and deliverables.
  • Help clients strengthen consistency of voice, branding, and messaging across platforms.
  • Provide recommendations on best practices for internal and external communication within a ministry context.
  • Write and edit clear, compelling, and Christ-centered content for emails, social media, websites, and print materials.
  • Analyze performance data and feedback to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies, adjusting as needed.
  • Stay current on church communication trends, tools, and digital ministry strategies.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in church communications, marketing, or related ministry roles.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.
  • Experience serving in or working alongside church leadership teams is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Familiarity with communication platforms and tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, Planning Center, Hootsuite, etc.).
  • Understanding of digital communication channels, including email marketing, social media, and web content.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
